A Airbnb planeja lançar no primeiro semestre de 2027 um agente de IA que compõe interfaces de viagem personalizadas em tempo real, substituindo o formato de chatbot tradicionalArte visual por Agente

Airbnb has confirmed it will launch an artificial intelligence agent in the first half of 2027, capable of helping users plan and book trips. The announcement was made in the shareholder letter for the third quarter of 2026, released by the company.

The company argues that current AI agents are good at simple, routine tasks, such as making a restaurant reservation or scheduling an appointment, but planning a trip on the platform requires something different.

An interface instead of a chat

Airbnb rules out the traditional chatbot format. Instead of a conversation window, the agent will rely on a library with hundreds of travel-specific interface elements — maps, photos, comparisons, calendars and itineraries — and compose them in real time according to the user's question.

According to the company, this "native AI" experience was purpose-built for the travel context. The agent should help guests explore options, make decisions together with the people they are traveling with, and execute actions directly within Airbnb.

Declared competitive advantage

The company maintains that its experience in matching hosts and guests, the role it already occupies in bookings and the new interface created specifically for travel give it an edge in this field.

Co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky had already signaled the plan to launch an agent in 2027. Speaking at the Skift Global Forum in September, he said the product would have an interface "much richer than a chatbot."

AI as an operational pillar

In the shareholder letter, Airbnb went beyond the product announcement and described artificial intelligence as "the best thing that has ever happened to Airbnb," stating that the technology has changed the way the company develops products and runs its operations.

The launch planned for the first half of 2027 puts Airbnb in the race for AI agents applied to consumer services, a segment in which the ability to execute real transactions — and not just answer questions — becomes the main technical differentiator.
