  1. 1. Concatenate date (DDMMYY) and 3-digit individual number (ZZZ) into a 9-digit integer.
  2. 2. Divide by 31 to obtain the remainder.
  3. 3. Look up remainder index in the 31-character table.
  4. 4. The resulting character must match position 11.
