Clé RIB Calculation Algorithm (CFONB Modulo 97)
Official mathematical weighting applied to the first three blocks:
Clé = 97 - ((89 * Bank + 15 * Branch + 3 * Account) % 97)
- 1. Convert any letters in the account number to digits 1 to 9 according to CFONB rules.
- 2. Multiply the bank code by 89.
- 3. Multiply the branch code by 15.
- 4. Multiply the transliterated 11-digit account number by 3.
- 5. Sum the three products and find the remainder modulo 97.
- 6. Subtract remainder from 97. If the result is 0, Clé RIB is 97.
