About Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN) in Nigeria
The TIN is the statutory tax identifier issued by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Joint Tax Board (JTB) in Nigeria, compulsory for registered corporations and individual taxpayers.
Our generator supports both the FIRS Corporate format (8 base digits plus a 4-digit tax office code, typically -0001 for main headquarters) and the 10-digit JTB Unified format used across Nigerian states.

- 2. Check whether total length corresponds to 10 digits (JTB) or 12 digits (FIRS).
- 3. Reject sequences with all identical digits or all zeros.
- 4. For FIRS numbers, verify that the 4-digit tax office code is not 0000.
