About Saudi National ID / Iqama Validation
The Saudi National ID (for citizens) and Iqama ID (for resident expatriates) are the standard 10-digit civil identification numbers in Saudi Arabia.
Consists of 10 digits: begins with "1" for Saudi nationals and "2" for foreign residents, with the 10th digit validated by the Luhn algorithm (Modulo 10).

Official check digit calculation for Saudi National ID / Iqama:
S = Σ luhn(d[i], i) (i=0..8); (S + d[9]) mod 10 === 0
- 1. Multiply even indices (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) by 2.
- 2. If product > 9, subtract 9.
- 3. Multiply odd indices (1, 3, 5, 7) by 1.
- 4. Sum all partial results into total S.
- 5. The check digit satisfies (S + check) mod 10 = 0.
