About the Swiss Health Card (LAMal / KVG / VeKa)

Official Algorithm (Luhn Modulo 10 — ISO/IEC 7812)
Mandatory check algorithm for healthcare electronic cards:
S = Σ (Luhn(d[i])); DV = (10 - (S mod 10)) mod 10
- 1. Fix the Swiss official health issuer prefix 807560 across the first 6 positions.
- 2. Append 13 random digits representing the insured card serial number.
- 3. Multiply alternating digits by 2 and 1 from right to left starting from the 19th position.
- 4. Subtract 9 from results greater than 9 and calculate the 10-complement of the sum for the 20th digit.
