UK EORI CDS / XI Validator (Customs Declaration Service / Economic Operator)
Validate GB/XI prefixes and 9-to-12-digit length compliance for post-Brexit UK EORI identifiers.
How does EORI CDS / XI Reino Unido (Customs Declaration Service) validation work?
The UK EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) number is issued by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) for businesses importing or exporting goods. Following the retirement of legacy CHIEF systems in favor of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS), dual-prefix handling (GB and XI) is mandatory.
The UK EORI format consists of a 2-letter prefix (`GB` for Great Britain or `XI` for Northern Ireland operators trading with the EU), followed by 9 digits (standard VAT number) or 12 digits (non-VAT entities or branch extensions).
