About Ukrainian RNOKPP (Tax Identification Number)
The RNOKPP (Реєстраційний номер облікової картки платника податків), previously known as IPN (ІПН), is the personal tax identification number in Ukraine, administered by the State Tax Service (DPS / STS).
Composed of 10 digits encoding the number of days elapsed since January 1, 1900, a daily registration sequence, gender, and a weighted checksum.
Check Digit Calculation Algorithm
- Multiply the first 9 digits by weights [-1, 5, 7, 9, 4, 6, 10, 5, 7].
- Calculate weighted sum: Sum = Σ(d[i] × weight[i]).
- Apply double modulo formula: CheckDigit = (Sum % 11) % 10.
- Append computed check digit as the 10th digit.
