About Mobile Driving Licence (mDL) and EUDI Wallet

The Mobile Driving Licence (mDL), standardized by ISO/IEC 18013-5, is a primary electronic attribute attestation integrated into the European Digital Identity Wallet.

Supports selective disclosure of attributes and cryptographic proof of possession.

Security and Cryptographic Architecture

  1. CBOR data structures (RFC 8949) signed with COSE_Sign1 (RFC 9052).
  2. Mobile Security Object (MSO) with independent SHA-256 attribute digests.
