About Malaysian Business Number (BRN) Validation

The Business Registration Number (BRN) is the official corporate identifier issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) under the Companies Act 2016 to register commercial entities.

The modern 12-digit SSM format follows `[YYYY][TT][NNNNNN]`: `YYYY` (4 digits) is the incorporation year; `TT` (2 digits) specifies the legal entity type (e.g., `01` for private limited); and `NNNNNN` (6 digits) is the sequential registration number.
