Anatomy & Structure of MyKad (Kad Pengenalan Malaysia)
The Malaysian identity card number consists of 12 digits in 3 parts:

Official MyKad Validation Rules (JPN Act 78)
Official validation rules for Malaysian MyKad:
Date YYMMDD + Official PB State Code + Gender in 12th digit
- 1. Verify exact length of 12 decimal digits.
- 2. Validate date of birth (positions 1 to 6) in the calendar.
- 3. Validate place of birth code PB (positions 7 and 8) against official JPN list.
- 4. Determine gender: last digit odd for males, even for females.
