About the Panama Identity Card (CIP)
The Cédula de Identidad Personal (CIP) is the official civil identification document issued by the Electoral Tribunal of the Republic of Panama.
It follows the canonical format [Prefix]-[Volume]-[Entry], covering provinces 1 through 13 and special prefixes such as PE (Permanent Resident Foreigner), N (Naturalized), E (Emigrated), and AV.

Panama CIP Structural Rules
The Electoral Tribunal enforces structural integrity rules:
