About Romanian CIF Validation
This tool verifies that the CIF contains 2 to 10 digits and validates the final check digit against the official ANAF Modulo 11 algorithm.
Supports inputs with or without the 'RO' prefix, performing real-time in-memory client-side validation.
CIF Validation Algorithm
- Remove whitespace and dashes, detecting optional 'RO' prefix.
- Ensure the numeric part contains between 2 and 10 decimal digits.
- Left-pad the base number with zeros to 9 digits.
- Calculate weighted sum using weights [7, 5, 3, 2, 1, 7, 5, 3, 2] and formula (Sum × 10) % 11.
- Compare computed check digit with the final digit provided.
