Modulo 11 Validation Rules
Official calculation algorithm for corporate identity in Uruguay:
Remainder = ∑(dᵢ × Wᵢ) mod 11, weights [4, 3, 2, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2]
- 1. Cleanup: Strip dots, hyphens, and spaces.
- 2. Numerical Validation: Ensure exactly 12 numeric digits.
- 3. Checksum Verification: Multiply the 11 digits by official weights, compute remainder, and verify (remainder 0 -> DV 0; remainder 1 -> DV 6; otherwise 11 - remainder).
- 4. Validation: Compare expected check digit against the 12th digit.
