The Box4Dev Old Plate Generator creates vehicle plates in the AAA-9999 format (3 letters followed by 4 numbers), which was the Brazilian standard until the Mercosur standard.
This tool is useful for testing fleet control systems, parking, and toll systems that must remain compatible with older vehicles.
Anatomy of Brazilian Traditional License Plate
The classic grey plate features 7 alphanumeric characters in LLL-NNNN format:

Formatting Rules of Brazilian Traditional Plate
Strictly composed of 3 uppercase letters followed by 4 decimal digits:
^[A-Z]{3}-?[0-9]{4}$
- 1. First 3 characters must be uppercase letters [A-Z].
- 2. An optional hyphen may separate the letters and numbers.
- 3. Final 4 characters must be decimal digits [0-9].
- 4. No additional special symbols or spurious spaces are allowed.
